JIMMY ELLIS - IN THE SHADOW OF A KING


We are very happy and pleased to finally bring this beautiful, new biography book to current Jimmy Ellis (Orion) fans and hopefully new ones around the world. 

The book is hardcover, 406 pages, along with a 22-track CD located in the back of the book that has some of Jimmy's finest performances including a few unreleased gems from the archives of Sun Records. 

The book has been a huge task with 12+ years of research. It is written by lead author and researcher Kenneth Dokkeberg, along with other authors Steve Kelley (Jimmy's road manager and friend for 19 years), and Robert Dillard (a personal friend since college). The book has hundred's of unseen photos, interviews with musicians and many other people close to Jimmy. Read about Jimmy's childhood, the TN Walking Horse business, Jimmy chasing his dream in the music industry, and his tragic end. This is the definitive book about a man with the voice of a king.
